Study: People Turn to 'Established' Media for More Info on Breaking News

According to a survey of just over 3,000 18 to 65 year old Americans, old media still has a place in our hearts. Poynter reports that 83 percent of respondents said that when they learn of breaking news, they turn to a second, “established” media source for further information. The news organizations they sought out include Fox News, The New York Times, CNN and more.

The survey also found that half of the respondents turned to a different platform (from TV to online, or vice versa) for more information, and of those who were already online, 60 percent turned to the traditional outlets.
