What do generation Y employees, or those between the ages of 18 and 34, expect from their workplaces in terms of social media? Gen Y research and consulting firm Millennial Branding and American Express polled 1,000 of them to find out.

Findings from the study by Millennial Branding and American Express included:

  • 54 percent of managers believe that Gen Y employees should own the rights to their own social media profiles even if they use them during work hours, while 69 percent of Gen Y employees expressed that sentiment.
