Study: 20% of Tweets Mention Brand, Product
Why pay for advertising when companies and products are getting it free-of-charge? According to a study of more than 500,000 tweets by Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology, some 20% of all tweets mention specific brand names or products.
PSU associate professor Jim Jansen told paidContent he was surprised by the high percentage of favorable Twitter comments, adding that micro-blogging could ultimately be on par with email “in terms of its communication impact” for advertisers.
