KTLA Reporter Gives Celebrity Fitness App a Boost

It’s amazing what a little media exposure can do. After KTLA tech reporter Rich DeMuro did a piece this morning on celebrity fitness trainer Steve Zim’s two-dollar iPhone app “ZIMFIT,” which gives the Average Joe access to Zim’s A-list client exercise routines, the software has been burning up the iTunes charts.

The 30-day virtual program personalizes daily regimens based on a user’s profile information, and comes from a guy who helped turn Chris Evans into Captain America. Another way it is being used, according to DeMuro’s report, is by actors on location. Breaking Bad‘s Jere Burns for example takes the app with him to hotel fitness centers:

Zim opened his first LA gym, A Tighter U, way back in 1988. He is also the author of three books and a regular on-air fitness expert for weekend editions of The Today Show.
