Much-loved actor and television presenter Stephen Fry has temporarily quit Twitter because of safety issues.
The comedian wrote that he won’t be returning to Twitter until next month.
“Closing down on Twitter while filming,” Fry tweeted earlier today. “In a place whence I’ve been advised it is safest not to tweet. See you December. Here goes…”

Fry has almost eight million followers on Twitter, and fans have been tweeting possible reasons for his departure, including speculation about a possible appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII, which is due be released in December 2015.
This isn’t the first time Fry has quit Twitter. Back in 2009, he threatened to step away from the platform because there was “too much aggression and unkindness around”.
