In the first hour after the trailer for upcoming feature film Star Wars: The Force Awakens was revealed Monday night, 1.3 million Facebook users generated 2.1 million interactions.

In the first hour after the trailer for the upcoming feature film Star Wars: The Force Awakens was revealed Monday night, 1.3 million Facebook users generated 2.1 million interactions (posts, comments, likes, shares).

The trailer debuted at halftime of the Monday Night Football game on ESPN, and the video on Facebook has been viewed more than 4.1 million times and shared nearly 385,000 times at the time of this post.

When the trailer aired, there were also more than 17,000 tweets-per-minute being sent. Altogether, Twitter told SocialTimes that more than 390,000 tweets about the trailer were sent Monday night. Twitter also created specialized emojis for the event.

Users commenting on the trailer included none other than Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who wrote, “This looks amazing. I love Star Wars,” while the video was shared by John Boyega, who portrays Finn, and co-star Daisy Ridley (Rey) shared a candid video of her first look at the trailer.
