Star Wars Mobile Games Updated to Celebrate The Force Awakens

We take a look at some of the Star Wars games that have received updates or sales in celebration of the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in theaters.

To celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in theaters, many Star Wars mobile games have been updated with new content inspired by the film, or are offering sales on in-game items.

These Star Wars games feature gameplay in a number of genres, from base-building and platforming to card collecting and more, so even if you’re not heading to the theater, there are still plenty of ways for you to experience the Star Wars universe this weekend.

Here’s a look at some of the Star Wars mobile games which have been updated with new content or sales.

Star Wars Commander

Star Wars: Commander (Free on iOS, Android, Windows PhoneAmazon) – Players of this base-building combat game from Disney Interactive can now relocate their base to Takodana, a planet in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. When players compete in player-vs-player battles on Takodana, they’ll have the chance to receive two new units inspired by the film: the Dowutin Hunter and Luggabeast Munitioneer (these units can be upgraded). In addition, players can receive up to 30 percent more content when making in-app purchases.

Star Wars Force Collection

Star Wars: Force Collection (Free on iOS, Android) – This card battle game from Konami has been updated with a set of cards inspired by the new film, including five-star Rey, Kylo Ren and BB-8 cards, four-star Finn and Captain Phasma cards and three-star Resistance Soldier and Stormtrooper cards. For a limited time, all players who login to the game will receive the 5-star BB-8 card for free. In addition, a special Star Wars: The Force Awakens Movie Release card pack is now available. Finally, players can save 30 percent when purchasing in-app content.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (Free on iOS, Android) – This turn-based battle game from Electronic Arts now allows players to collect characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, including Finn and Kylo Ren, among others. As part of this update, from now until December 31, players who login to the game will receive two free characters inspired by the movie. Gamers on iOS devices will receive the Poe Dameron and First Order Stormtrooper characters, while Android users will receive the Captain Phasma and Resistance Trooper characters. In addition, players can receive 30 percent more crystals when purchasing in-app content.

Disney Infinity: Toy Box 3.0 (Free on iOSAndroid, Amazon) – In this companion app for the Disney Infinity 3.0 console game, players can receive 18 times more premium content for up to 50 percent off.

Star Wars: Uprising (Free on iOS, Android) – Players of this RPG from Kabam can receive up to 25 percent more content with in-app purchases.

Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions (Free on iOS, Android, Windows Phone) – Players of this side-scrolling platformer from Disney Interactive can receive up to 66 percent off with in-app purchases.

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Free on iOS) – Players of this action adventure game from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment can purchase the game’s premium content packs for 30 percent off.
