Facebook is developing a stand-alone application for creators of Facebook Live videos, which will debut as an update to its stand-alone Facebook Mentions app for celebrities, public figures and journalists.
Product director Daniel Danker announced the app during a panel at VidCon this week, The Future of Facebook Video.
Danker said the app will be built around Facebook’s new Live Creative Kit, which will allow creators to add introductions, outros, custom stickers and frames to live broadcasts, all via their smartphones.
He added that the upcoming app will include a community tab for interaction with users and creators on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger from a single location, as well as insights on their videos’ engagement and performance.
