PR Stunts: Spy Optic Is ‘Happy to Sit on Your Face’

Apparently there’s no longer any need to cleverly disguise dumb PR stunts. Via our colleagues at Fishbowl LA, a West Coast eyewear company called Spy Optic admits that their “Happy to Sit on Your Face” billboard was simply an earnest attempt to gin up some controversy and bring attention to their new “Happy” line of eye-wear.

The company’s new glasses supposedly “increase serotonin, decrease melatonin, and keep circadian rhythms healthy.” In other words, if you want to find true happiness then all you need is love—and these sweet new glasses, bro!

With claims as dubious as those, we can see why the company felt the need to get a little creative with their promo campaign.

Dirty hippies.
