Spotify Hopes You Like the New Android App

Spotify has a new mobile app for Android that's easier to navigate, has a better sound quality, and includes more social discovery features. “The feedback we got from the preview we released a few weeks back was really positive," said Gustav Södertröm, VP products at Spotify in a statement. "We wanted to give our users something special - we really hope you like it."

Spotify has a new mobile app for Android that’s easier to navigate, has a better sound quality, and includes more social discovery features.

Designed for the new Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich, the app is ready for download on Google Play, although it does require a premium subscription at $9.99 per month.

It’s been rebuilt from top to bottom, with a slide-out bar for easier navigation. At the request of many users, the new Spotify app also supports playlist folders.

There are some new social features, like the ability to check out friends’ profile pages and playlists.
