Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports Tap Facebook Live for NFL Draft Coverage

Twitter held its own mock draft, using data on players most-mentioned in tweets discussing given teams and the draft

The first round of the 2017 National Football League Draft kicks off Thursday night, and Sports Illustrated and Yahoo Sports will provide coverage of all 32 picks via Facebook Live.

In addition, Twitter held its own mock draft, using data on players most-mentioned in tweets discussing given teams and the draft to predict all 32 picks.

SI will go live from two sets starting at 7:45 p.m. ET Thursday. One set will feature host Maggie Gray, The MMQB senior writer Albert Breer and SI college football insider Andy Staples providing breaking news and analysis with each pick. Pro Football Focus’ Steve Palazzolo and Mike Renner will man the second set, discussing draft prospects and evaluating each pick using PFF’s proprietary statistics.

Comments and questions from fans on Facebook will be incorporated into SI’s coverage, and The MMQB will also go on Facebook Live from the home of Myles Garrett, who is expected to be the first pick.

Yahoo Sports’ coverage will kick off at 8 p.m. from in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art at Eakins Oval, where the draft is taking place, as well as from its New York studios.

Mike Hill will host, and analysts including Tony Siragusa, Tank Williams, Charles Robinson and Pat Forde will chime in with NFL and college analysis, player interviews, featured sketches, original rap freestyles and exclusive scouting from Rivals.com and Player Profiler.

Brad Evans, Brandon Funston and Liz Loza will also provide fantasy football perspectives, and questions submitted from Facebook will be incorporated into the livestream.
