Spin the Agencies of Record

  • Brand USA stuck with Ogilvy as its AOR after a review. Brand USA is a group created by the Travel Promotion Act to help raise awareness of the US as a global tourist destination…with or without the help of Taylor Swift.

  • The Brooks Group of New York will represent Nicole Curtis, host of the HGTV/DIY show Rehab Addict (which is definitely near the top of our informal list of TV shows with misleading names).
  • PSCU, or the nation’s largest credit union service organization, signed Raleigh’s French/West/Vaughan as its PR AOR. The firm will handle media relations and corporate comms for the org, which aims to empower its member-owned unions to “lead and prosper by securing a long-range future for their businesses.” Now excuse us while we check our account balances and Google “how do I join a credit union?”
  • Florida’s InGear PR will handle media relations and content marketing for Pexip, a Norwegian videoconferencing company. Interestingly, the company’s head of marketing claims that an editor recommended the firm to him. So buy the next round for your media contacts.
  • The Brandon Agency, hailing from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (Go Hurricanes!), will be PR AOR for Escapa Living, a women’s apparel/resort wear brand. Your editor will try not to hold the fact that Myrtle Beach always defeated his hometown of North Myrtle Beach in the Little League all-star game against them.
