These days so much of our lives is online that it can be difficult to keep track of it all. With updates on Facebook, pictures on Flickr and Picasa, videos on YouTube, messages on LinkedIn, emails in personal accounts, work accounts, Google+ requests, tweets, music streams and more…it can get pretty overwhelming! That’s where Sphinx steps in.
Sphinx is a new platform from NIFO (Next In, First Out) that simplifies your online life by integrating all of your social networks, email accounts, media and more into one HTML5 experience. Sphinx is currently in private beta but is preparing to launch publicly in the coming months. Earlier this week Nifo’s Head of Marketing, Alex Romanovich, and Head of Technology, Andrey Grubin, gave me a sneak peek of the service.
Sphinx currently integrates all of your email accounts, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn (with YouTube, Pinterest, Flickr and Picasa integration on the way as well). Connect your accounts and you can access all of your information and media from one, slick HTML5 interface. Users simply click on the “pearls” at the top of the screen to navigate between email accounts, social networks, video, audio, images and other applications.
Romanovich and Grubin explained to me that they are trying to simplify the process of accessing and engaging with all of our online content, taking different processes such as sharing media from a number of clicks to just one or two.
Romanovich says, “The new advances in digital media and social media are supposed to help the end-user and make their life easier. Instead, they bring new complexities and lower expectations. We strongly feel that NIFO’s Sphinx Social Operating Environment (SOE) can not only bring a new web experience to the user and small businesses in general, but can also simplify communications and the overall navigation throughout the social universe.”
Grubin added, “We can finally realize an almost full potential of HTML5 and other new web technologies while putting them to good use within the Sphinx environment. No other platform today can integrate email, social media, rich media and an embedded product environment in one session with the same level of user experience and integration.”
Based upon what I saw from NIFO’s demo of Sphinx, it looks like a great time saver and a cool way to access your online life in one location. We’ll definitely be keeping you updated as Sphinx prepares to launch to the public.
