What time did you get up this morning? 8:45 am. The virtues of unemployment!

When did you last cry and why? It’s been forever. It involved an ex-girlfriend.

Which of the seven deadly sins are you? Sneezy.

What’s your opinion of New York City? Great place to grow up, miss it very badly, but wish we could pass an edict whereby Brooklynites have to pass a history exam before moving south of Prospect Park.

What’s your favorite letter? The Scarlet one.

What single person played the biggest role / had the biggest influence on your journalism career? John Judis, the most brilliant, integrity-filled man in political/foreign-policy journalism. He’s the reporter I want to be some day, although he doesn’t know much about punk rock.

Have you ever downloaded a podcast? If so, which one? Yes! The Mixtape Network with Dex Digital for his show about Hurricane Katrina. That Mos Def track is HOT.

Who’s your all-time favorite American Idol candidate? I’ll say Ted Leo, for his brilliant composition, “Since U Been Gone.”

When’s the last time you volunteered? Where? Three weeks ago I helped out with the Really Free Market anarchist swapmeet in Carrboro, North Carolina.

Who is your favorite active journalist?Just one? John Judis.

What did you have for breakfast? Cigarettes.

What’s your favorite item of clothing? My Palestine High School nylon jacket

What one toiletry item could you not live without? Toothbrush. Everything else is easily replicable in a pinch.

If you could have one superpower, which one would it be? Every journo probably says this, but the ability to read minds.
