Sophie Ristelhueber Wins Deutsche Börse Photography Prize

Sophie Ristelhueber has won the 2010 Deutsche Börse Photography Prize for her retrospective at the Jeu de Paume in Paris. Presented annually by The Photographers’ Gallery and sponsored by Deutsche Börse group, the prize recognizes a living photographer who has made the most significant contribution (through an exhibition or publication) to photography in Europe over the past year. Director Terry Gilliam presented Ristelhueber with the £30,000 (approximately $46,000) prize at a ceremony today in London.
