Sony Online Deals for PoxNora
Sony Online Entertainment has acquired the PoxNora collectible card game from Tucson, Ariz.-based Octopi as it looks to build on what has emerged as a successful category for the online game developer.
Launched in 2006, PoxNora is a fantasy game that combines online collectible cards, turn-based strategy and role-playing.
“Expanding with a great product like PoxNora and the outstanding development team from Octopi gives us a chance to extend our strategy game offerings and enhance the ones we already field,” SOE president John Smedley said.
SOE said the PoxNora development team will now become the core of the company’s new Tucson studio and work with SOE Denver on expanding the PoxNora brand as well as creating new trading- and strategy-game products.
