Sony Movies Go Mobile in South Korea

Sony Pictures Television International has inked a deal to provide on-demand movies and TV shows to South Korean mobile operator SK Telecom, Asia-Pacific Broadcasting reports.

As the first Hollywood studio to offer movies through SKT, Sony will initially provide all three “Spider-Man” movies as well as “Kung Fu Hustle,” “Surf’s Up” and the TV series “The Tudors” among others.

“South Korea is one of the most wired parts of the world and a pioneering market in terms of new media,” the article quotes Ross Pollack, senior VP, distribution, Asia, for SPTI, as saying.
