When PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) hits the streets, it will expand its entertainment experience by introducing various applications for social networking services and communications.
Sony Computer Entertainment now has dedicated social media applications for the handheld device, including Facebook, foursquare, Skype and Twitter. But we will not hold the device until its launch in Japan by the end of 2011, followed by the U.S. and Europe early next year.
If you are wondering if the PS Vita will contain more memory to take on more data, that is an affirmative. Sony is reporting 512MB of RAM and 128MB of VRAM.
Once the applications are released for PS Vita users, they will not only be immersive in rich gaming content but will enjoy the social networking services and communications widely used around the world. Users will have an easy access and greater opportunity to enjoy communicating with friends by simply selecting the dedicated application. Sony claims PS Vita is the next generation portable entertainment system because it not only delivers gaming entertainment but close collaboration with various social networking services and communications.
The applications will be downloadable to PS Vita directly from PlayStation Store at no charge. Users will be able to activate the application just by selecting the icon which will appear on the PS Vita home screen. Also, PS Vita users will be able to view photos and movies shared with their friends and acquaintances via the internet.
Sony is hinting at more applications for their new handheld gaming device, but in the meantime, we have to wait until next year to hold a PS Vita in our hands to play games, network and share images.
