“They’re holding this one closer to the chest than Biden held Hillary,” wrote Dylan Byers yesterday about the Jim VandeHei/Mike Allen media venture of which details are hard to come by. Except in the job hires department, with new hires disclosed this week by Byers and by Politico Playbook, adding to the growing body of staff for the mystery media project.
Alexis Lloyd and Matt Boggie have joined the new venture, Lloyd as chief design officer and Boggie as chief technology officer. The pair were both snagged from The New York Times Research and Development group, where Lloyd was creative director and Boggie executive director. They’ll both be New York-based, and they’ve both started the hunt for team hires.
Back in Washington, where the organization will we headquartered, Independent Journal Review editor in chief Bubba Atkinson has signed on.
“There is no getting around it that we’ll miss Bubba and Charlie (our loyal lab), but know he will be equally successful in his new and exciting adventure with Jim, Mike and Roy,” wrote IJR founder Alex Skatell in an email to Playbook.
Taking Atkinson’s place at the helm is an editorial executive team made up of Kate Bennett, Juan Leon, Justin Green and Benny Johnson.
