Even in this bad economy, which some people are saying is heading right back into recession, some people are doing just fine.
Those “some people” are executives, particularly those with experience in R&D, human resources, product development, and certain computer languages, some of whom are fielding multiple offers and being offered signing bonuses as if the economy was fine.
Fortune reports that 5 to 10 percent of executive candidates are getting more than one offer after 3 months of searching. “That might not seem like much, but competition is fierce for that group,” the magazine said.
A recruiter, Jeff Zinser, summed it up best, telling Fortune: “It’s a very schizophrenic market right now.”
