The glittering lure of social media can be irresistible, and, as we’ve documented on numerous occasions, very addictive.

What sacrifices are YOU making to get your fix?

New data from Browser Media illustrates how popular social platforms such as Twitter and Facebook are in the UK. Women (60 minutes per day) spend more time social networking than men (48 minutes) and, at the current rate, the average adult will use up two years and four months of their lives on social networking sites.

Socialising (14 percent), sleep (10 percent) and even sex (8 percent) are common sacrifices for those who can’t get enough of their favourite social media channels.
