The new OS had its share of teething troubles, most notably a WiFi login bug that Apple quickly and mysteriously resolved. Other users saw ongoing problems with accessing music on their iPhones. SocialTimes Local business review site Yelp has marked a pin in Apple’s answer to Google Maps. Now that Apple’s latest operating system, iOS 6, is ready for download, iPad and iPhone users will be able to check out Yelp reviews on Apple maps in 17 of the countries that use Yelp. The New York Times The new Apple-powered Maps app includes some other features that were not in the old version, like spoken turn-by-turn directions and Flyover, a feature that shows 3-D models of buildings in major cities. The colors in the Apple maps sparkle a bit more; zooming and panning is faster. CNET When Apple announced iOS 5 and the tight integration it would feature with Twitter, many people wondered about the conspicuous lack of Facebook integration. We still don't know why Facebook wasn't included in iOS 5, but it is included in iOS 6. 'Innocence of Muslims' Actress Cindy Lee Garcia Sues YouTube, Producer (AP) An actress who appears in the anti-Muslim film trailer that has sparked riots in the Middle East is suing the filmmaker for fraud and slander and is asking a judge to order YouTube to take down the clip. Cindy Lee Garcia's lawsuit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles claims the actress was duped by Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the man behind "Innocence of Muslims" who has been forced into hiding since its 14-minute trailer rose to prominence last week. Bloomberg The 14-minute trailer shows a fictional attack by Muslims on a Christian family, followed by an account of the origins of Islam depicting Mohammed as a womanizer. YouTube said in an emailed statement the company is reviewing the complaint. The Wall Street Journal Garcia first became involved with the film when she responded to an ad for a “historical Arabian Desert adventure film,” the document says. The film, titled “Desert Warriors” was later altered with anti-Islamic voice-overs, according to the suit. After Losing Display Ad Lead to Facebook, Google is Back on Top (GigaOM) According to a new report from research firm eMarketer, Google is expected to lead the United States display ad market in 2012, after losing the top spot to Facebook last year. The search giant also dominates in mobile and search advertising. The Next Web Google Wednesday updated its Google Maps for Android app with search history and single-handed zoom. You can grab the new version from the official Google Play store. Facebook Tests Automatic 'Photo Sync' Uploads on Android (The Verge) Facebook has begun testing a new feature for Android owners that syncs photos you shoot on your phone straight to your Facebook account. It's a hybrid of Google+'s instant photo-upload feature and Apple's Photostream, which uploads any picture you take to the cloud and syncs it with your other iOS devices and computers. Social Data Startup Gnip Goes Deeper into Twitter’s Past, Offers Full Archive of Public Tweets (TechCrunch) Gnip announced a new product Wednesday that provides access to the full database of public tweets from the beginning of time — or rather, the beginning of Twitter. The company says that’s only available to Twitter, the Library of Congress, and now Gnip customers. Earth and Jupiter are in a Relationship on Tumblr (The Daily Dot) Last week, the planet Jupiter appeared to sustain a major impact from a comet or asteroid, “saving” Earth from a potential collision with the object in the process.
