Social media has revolutionised digital marketing for brands of all shapes and sizes across almost every corner of the globe, but it’s not without its pitfalls – or naysayers.
Indeed, 50 percent of chief execs to one recent poll said that they weren’t convinced of social media’s value as a business tool, and with social accounting for just over one percent of all e-commerce website traffic, it’s perhaps easy to understand why.
Conversely, 90 percent of the world’s data was created in the past two years, mostly thanks to social media. Moreover, 74 percent of 16-24 year-olds say that they cannot be parted from their mobile phones, with social media apps the number one consumer of their time. Accordingly, 71 percent of marketers say that they plan to spend more on social advertising in the next 12 months.
