More than two-thirds (68 percent) of Fortune 500 CEOs have absolutely no social media presence on any major network, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+ and even LinkedIn, reveals a new study.
CEO.com’s annual report on the state of social media engagement amongst business leaders found that while the platforms themselves have seen solid year-on-year gains, the majority of CEOs are still not taking to social media.
Of those that are active on only one network, 73 percent chose LinkedIn – indeed, nearly half of all “social CEOs” are only on LinkedIn.
69 percent of Twitter-using CEOs are considered active on the platform (defined as having tweeted in the past 100 days), but just 8.3 percent of CEOs have a Facebook account, up slightly from 2013.
The report also noted that more CEOs are on Instagram than Google+.
