Snapchat’s Lenses Just Got a Lot More Robust

The new World Lenses function as if they were actual real-world objects

Snapchat has moved beyond users’ faces with its launch Tuesday of World Lenses, which enable users to add augmented reality-enhanced 3-D “experiences” to any part of images captured via their cameras.

The new World Lenses function as if they were actual real-world objects. For example, if users walk toward them, they increase in size.

The initial batch of World Lenses includes a cloud, a rainbow, flowers and a floating OMG.

Snapchat said in its blog post introducing the feature:

We launched Lenses over a year ago as a whole new way to express ourselves on Snapchat.
