Smithsonian.com Launches Video Contest

Winners' videos to appear online, VOD channel

Following Smithsonian magazine’s digitally-focused redesign last year, Smithsonian.com getting ready to launch a short film contest titled Smithsonian in Motion.

Would-be filmmakers will be invited to submit videos in one of six categories (nature, people, science, mobile, travel or arts). Winners in each category, as voted upon by a panel of judges, will have their videos highlighted on the Smithsonian Channel’s Video on Demand and be interviewed for an online feature, while the Grand Prize winner will receive a $2,000 cash prize.
