Kai Ryssdal has a new senior producer of his “Marketplace” show. American Public Media just announced Sitara Nieves would be taking over the role. She comes to “Marketplace” from WNYC’s “The Takeaway,” which she worked on since its founding in 2008.
“The quick-response nature of “The Takeaway” taught Sitara to move fast – very fast – while she led the development of four hours of live broadcast journalism every day,” said “Marketplace” executive producer Deborah Clark in the release. “Sitara will play an important role as we continue to produce innovative news and economic programming that our listeners expect. I’m confident that she will be a real partner in helping us take “Marketplace” to the next level.”
Nieves starts her new job on May 31.
