A full-page ad for the Demand a Plan initiative pushing gun control that appeared in the New York Times this morning featured signatures from a who’s-who list of tech luminaries and others.

Demand a Plan stems from Mayors Against Illegal Guns. The campaign is hosting an online petition, which boasts 750,000 signatures. Supporters are also have a Facebook page. Twitter users can add a “Demand a Plan” banner to their profile pictures.

The petition supports a ban on assault weapons, mandatory background checks for gun purchases in all states and stricter regulation of interstate sales of guns.

Tech signatories to the ad in the New York Times included Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, Yahoo shareholder rights advocate turned board member Daniel Loeb, Ron Conway, who also campaigned for local San Francisco measures as the head of the tech industry group sf.citii,
