Facebook Rolls Out Shared Activity Plugin For Apps

Facebook launched a new plugin Thursday that allows users of applications to manage their default privacy settings, as well as the settings for individual posts, directly via the apps, without having to return to the Facebook environment.

Facebook launched a new plugin Thursday that allows users of applications to manage their default privacy settings, as well as the settings for individual posts, directly via the apps, without having to return to the Facebook environment.

The social network pointed out that the new shared activity plugin also gives developers an easier way to implement the user controls that are required when they are adding open graph built-in like actions to their apps.

Facebook provided more details on the shared activity plugin in a post on its developer blog:

Today we are launching the shared activity plugin, which gives people a way to control the activity they share to Facebook directly from your Web app.
