ItalianShare650Facebook appears to be experimenting with several different ways to express the word “share” in Italian.

Reader Veronica Gentili shared the screenshot above, in which “ripubblica” replaced “condividi” as the Italian equivalent of share.

According to Wiktionary, condividi translates as share, while ripubblica can be translated as “to republish, to reissue, to reprint.”

UPDATED: Reader Matteo Gamba of Patience noted that other Facebook users in Italy are seeing variations including:

  • “pubblicalo tu” (you publish this)
  • “diffondi” (spread)
  • “divulga” (divulge)
  • “fai circolare” (make it go around)
  • “scambialo con un amico” (exchange with a friend, screenshot below courtesy of Gamba)

Readers: Have you seen any other changes to Facebook’s verbiage in different languages?
