Warner Music Group just signed a deal with SendMe Mobile, a mobile content provider, that lets consumers download ringtones, video ringers, and wallpapers from artist labels, MediaPost reports.
The announcement spans artists such as Blake Shelton, Faith Hill, Disturbed, VIC and Dragonforce. “Warner skews heavily to a demographic in Hip-hop and rap more than other labels, so we’re thrilled to add them to our catalog,” said Russell Klein, co-founder and CEO of SendMe, in the report.
SendMe now has three of the four major labels on board for its mobile content services. On the other hand, it still has an uphill battle to gain consumer mindshare—it’s one of a million ways to get music on mobile devices these days. That hasn’t changed in the past six months.
