Self-Published Author Critiques New Apple Rules

Earlier this week, Apple’s new in-app subscription rules went into effect, forcing Amazon, Google, Barnes & Noble and Kobo, among others, remove their eBook store links from within their Apple apps or pay Apple 30% of their revenue.

Self-published author Jeremy Tarr thinks this is a bad idea. The author of a new fairy tale fantasy book called (S)mythology, thinks that Apple is alienating readers.

He told eBookNewser: “eBooks have completely democratized the publishing industry — they’ve given writers a direct path to consumers.
