Saveur Magazine Rakes In Four James Beard Nominations

Saveur has received four nominations for this year’s James Beard Foundation’s Journalism Awards, which honors writers and media outlets devoted to food writing.

Contributor Anya von Bremzen receives a nomination in the “Magazine Feature Writing About Restaurants and/or Chefs” category for “Soul of a City,” an article covering cuisine in Istanbul.

Fellow contributor Francine Prose is nominated for the “M.F.K. Fisher Distinguished Writing Award” for “Faith and Bacon,” in which Prose analyzed religious taboos when it comes to foods.

Saveur‘s executive editor Dana Bown is nominated in the “Magazine Feature Writing with Recipes” category for her in-depth article “The Wonders of Ham,” a look at different varieties of ham found around the world.
