Facebook games may offer some of the latest advancements in free-to-play gaming, but that doesn’t mean every game needs to be incredibly complex. A perfect example is “Save the Green Guy,” a new retro-style game which plays exactly as it sounds. Players move around a game board, rescuing a green man from red men by simply touching him.
In each game, players control their character using the arrow keys. The game starts with only a few red enemies on the screen, but each time a green man is collected, more are added to the board to increase the challenge. Weapons appear randomly while playing, allowing gamers to fight back against the red guys, and each game ends when they’re eventually caught by an enemy.
While players can pick up multiple weapons in each game, more powerful weapons have higher recoil, increasing the odds the player will get caught.
Players can compare their high scores with friends on the in-game leaderboard, and are encouraged to play time and time again to rescue more little green men to increase their own scores.
