Salon Founder To Step In As Interim CEO

Salon CEO Richard Gingras left last month to run Google News.

Replacing him on a temporary basis will be David Talbot, who founded the site way back in 1995 and has remained involved since then, serving as editor in chief, chairman, and CEO (in 2003) as well as a board member for the progressive online magazine.

PaidContent notes that Salon tried to sell itself under Gingras’s leadership, and while Talbot is “unlikely to revive sale talks,” having a familiar name in charge might help the company seek out its permanent replacement for Gingras.
