We believe that everyone needs PR — even our friends in advertising.
In fact, specifically our friends in advertising because the last person you want conveying the core messages of a multi-million dollar ad campaign is someone with a hipster name like Miso, who cares more about the slicked-up curl of his overly mustachioed face than the benefits of a call-to-action.
Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles has announced some new hires to help. Mike Cooperman will be director of public relations, and fellow newbie Romina Bongiovanni has been named director of earned media.
“We’re thrilled to have Mike and Romina join our incredible team at Saatchi LA,” said John Lisko [executive communications director of SSLA]. “Both have an unparalleled cross-section of experience in communications and a proven track record of helping creative businesses at the forefront of new, innovative thinking and solutions. We believe Mike and Romina are the best people to tell the Saatchi story of thought-provoking creative and data-driven innovation and help us position the agency for business growth.”
Both Cooperman and Bongiovanni will report to Lisko for day-to-day agency management. According to the national press release, both duties will be allotted as follows:
As Director of Public Relations, Mike will oversee and lead the development of PR and media relations programs for the agency and client products and initiatives. He will also be responsible for developing long-term communication strategies across all agency departments to ensure alignment of messaging and positioning.
As Director of Earned Media, Romina will be responsible for amplifying and gaining value for clients brands by expanding the reach of existing content in non-paid consumer media channels. Romina will also report to John Lisko, Executive Director of Communications.
The Saatchi LA office is the third largest in the global network of ideas company Saatchi & Saatchi, part of Publicis Groupe.
