Russian eReader Gets Multi-Touch Support
There’s a new firmware out for the Onext Touch & Read 001, and it uses the capacitive touch screen to add support for pinch-zoom.
The Onext Touch & Read was launched last year and it’s based on a 6″ Sipix screen. It Wifi, 2GB Flash storage, a microSD card slot as well as a calendar, organizer, web browser, and other apps.
Past updates added new format support, bug fixes, and general performance improvements. The new update adds the ability to use 2 fingers to zoom in on images and text.
This eReader is not available in the US but similar hardware has shown up in Europe under different brand names.
