This is one of those “I want to believe this rumor is true” rumors. It comes by way of Cult of Mac who asks…
…and provides a photos of a purported Apple netbook that is 9.5 inches wide (look at the ruler) and what appears to be 6 inches from front to back. This would make it a bit smaller (and maybe lighter) than my Acer Aspire One 8.9-inch display model which is about 9.75 inches wide and 6.5 inches from front to back. The inference is that its screen can’t be any larger than 8 or 9 inches diagonal.
Quite honestly, I expected something more than a shrunken MacBook for Apple’s netbook design. What did I expect? Maybe something like the Star Trek Next Generation PADD?

UPDATE: RUMOR NOT TRUE (sigh)
My friend @jochenWolters set me straight by pointing me to this Gizmodo item that exposes the fake netbook…
