Ron Charles Named Dep. Editor of Book World

The WaPo memo below:

I am delighted to announce that Ron Charles will be the new deputy editor of Book World.

Ron has been the fiction editor for the Washington Post since 2005, when he was lured away from the Christian Science Monitor where he had been books editor for seven years. Since then, he’s overseen Book World’s fiction coverage, written a weekly fiction review and embraced our migration online with increased enthusiasm. This year, he won the National Book Critics Circle’s Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Reviewing, and also made his debut on Twitter.
