M. Scott Havens, Bloomberg Media’s global head of digital, announced the appointment of Roma Vakil as global head of consumer subscription revenue and strategy, a new position for the organization.
In this role, Vakil will focus on generating growth for both print and digital versions of the redesigned Bloomberg Businessweek, working with editor Megan Murphy ahead of its Q2 relaunch. Bloomberg Markets and Bloomberg Briefs will also fall under her purview.
Vakil, writes Havens in a note to staff, “is an accomplished digital marketing leader who has implemented innovative acquisition, engagement and retention strategies to drive revenue growth for both TheStreet and American Express.” She joins from TheStreet, where she had been head of acquisition marketing. She had spent the decade prior at American Express in a number of roles, including as director of international marketing and director of new product launch marketing.
