Roll Call: New Offices & More Acquisitions

[caption id="attachment_31408" align="alignleft" width="104" caption="Kiersten Hollars"][/caption] Chandler Chicco Companies (part of inVentiv Health) has acquired two German healthcare firms: Haas & Health Partner Public Relations and SanCom Creative Communication Solutions. CCC took a 19.9 percent interest in these firms in 2008. The acquisitions add 33 staffers (23 from the former, 10 from the latter), bringing Chandler Chicco's staff total to 380 around the world. Both firms will continue with their current names and leadership. Michael Sneed has been named VP of global corporate affairs at Johnson & Johnson, effective January 1, Ad Age reports. He will lead the global marketing and PR efforts as the company tries to comeback from a series of recalls. Brian Perkins, corporate VP of corporate affairs, will retire in March, but the company insists that Sneed is taking a broader role and is not replacing Perkins. The company is has also had a number of layoffs in the marketing area. Recalls since 2009 have cost the company $1 billion in sales, the story says. AOL VP of PR Kiersten Hollars is moving into the VC space. She'll be a PR partner at Andreessen Horowitz starting in January. Hollars joined AOL in November 2009. Before that, she was the director of comms at Digg, and before that worked at both Yahoo and Outcast. She will report to Outcast co-founder and current head of marketing Margit Wennmachers, who joined the VC company in June. Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide has taken a majority stake in Hong Kong-based Mind Resource Healthcare Consulting Limited. The deal is subject to approval. Mind Resource founder Janet Yeung will retain a minority stake in the company and her position as GM. The firm, launched in 2007, reps pharma companies, medical providers and associations, providing services including education and disease awareness. Research puts the value of the Hong Kong medical industry at $12.1 billion. Clients of the two companies include Bayer, Roche, and Pfizer. Fenton has opened its first office abroad, in Cavendish Square in London. The office will be led by Alison Lucas, co-founder of The Climate Group, an organization that works with governments and brands around the world to push for a low-carbon economy. Fenton is a 30-year-old "social impact" firm, that has also launched a global network across Latin America, Asia, and Africa that will be based in the new London office. The firm's other offices are in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. GCI Health Chicago is open for business. Wendy Lund, GCI Health's CEO, will run the firm from New York, and the office will be staffed by experienced GCI Health employees. The firm already has eight offices in the U.S. and abroad including the U.K., Atlanta, and Toronto. GCI Health is a WPP firm. The O'Donnell Agency has opened its third office in Miami, FL. Its other offices are in West Palm Beach, FL and New York. The firm's clients include BioFlorida, the Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission, and other Florida companies and organizations.* *Correction: We got our Florida cities all mixed up and put the O'Donnell Agency's new and existing offices in the wrong places.
