At a goodbye and good luck gathering at Kushi Izakaya & Sushi restaurant the other night, Roll Call bid farewell to Janie Lorber, a general assignment reporter on the Lobbying and Influence Team. In an anonymous email, a well wisher called it a “good luck gathering for productive Roll Call influence reporter who is moving on to a quality, stable future.” Lorber is off to MIT to earn an MBA.

To CQRC Staff —
It’s with bittersweet emotions that I let you know that Janie Lorber is leaving our staff to pursue an MBA degree at MIT. She hopes to take her deep interest in journalism into the new world of social media. In other words, she’s going to build our future!
Janie came to us two years ago from the New York Times, where she was an editorial assistant. She’s been a general assignment reporter with our Lobbying and Influence team, specializing in grassroots movements and other hot-button lobbying fronts.
She has been an energetic and creative part of our team, and we will all miss her. At the same time, we’ll need her brains and imagination on the business side of our industry. So please join me in wishing her all the best.
