New York/San Francisco firm Horn Group has been acquired by Finn Partners. The release positions this acquisition as an expansion of Finn's tech practice, and founder/CEO Sabrina Horn will now serve as managing partner of said practice within the U.S. Technology is Finn's largest operation with over 100 employees and $20 million in fees. After the merger, Finn will have a total of 500 employees globally with $70 million in annualized fees; Horn Group's New York and San Francisco offices will merge into Finn's respective operations. Regarding the move, Finn founding partner Peter Finn says, "We're pleased that Sabrina Horn will now be leading our technology practice to help us reach our aggressive growth goals in the coming years." (Release) Two boutique brands in technology public relations – Feintuch Communications and Roher Public Relations – have merged. Feintuch Communications, founded in 2009 by tech industry veteran and former journalist Henry Feintuch, specializes in technology, financial services/fintech, cleantech/clean energy, adtech/media and professional services. Roher Public Relations, based in Pleasantville, N.Y. with offices in Portland, Ore., is best known in electronics and other high tech markets, including consumer electronics, AV, telecom and IT. (Release) Global Strategy Group has hired Glen Caplin as senior vice president. Caplin will be based in GSG’s New York office. In his new role, he will be responsible for strategic communications and public affairs, and will also focus on media relations campaigns for the NY, DC and national media markets. Caplin, who brings significant experience communicating for both corporate and political brands, most recently served as Senior Communications Director to U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) (Release) The Glover Park Group has hired Jocelyn Moore as managing director in its government relations practice. Moore will provide strategic political and legislative counsel on a broad range of issues and manage the firm’s Health + Wellness government relations practice. Moore joins GPG with 15 years of experience in the United States Senate, most recently serving as the Deputy Staff Director of the Senate Finance Committee. (Politico) Ruder Finn, Inc. has hired Sarah Anderson as executive vice president and head of the U.S. Consumer Practice. Anderson has more than 20 years of industry experience working on executive thought leadership, brand positioning and product launches for major consumer brands in every category. Prior to joining Ruder Finn, she ran her own agency and worked in long-term consulting roles for agencies like Edelman, Weber Shandwick and Golin. (Release) The Knot Group, based in Canada, has announced its international expansion into the US and Latin American with representatives in public relations and event management based out of New York. Overseeing American operations out of the New York office are events director Erika Mercado and PR director Kara Hughett. Together Mercado and Hughett bring over 20 years experience working in the US and Mexico. (Release) Audi of America announced that Bianca Bucciarelli has joined the company as west coast lifestyle communications manager. This position is based out of Los Angeles, CA. Bucciarelli joins Audi from Vision PR, where she led the Los Angeles office as a talent publicist. Prior to this position, Bucciarelli worked for HL Group and BWR Public Relations. (Release) MMI has brought on Danni Dichito as project coordinator. In her role, Dichito is responsible for building social media campaigns for MMI’s clients. She specializes in digital marketing strategy, social media content development and analytics. Prior to joining MMI, she served as a digital specialist for Townsquare Interactive in Charlotte, North Carolina.
