Peter Hirsch has joined Ogilvy PR as EVP, director of reputation risk. He will be responsible for building on the firm’s presence in the corporate reputation, crisis management, executive visibility and thought leadership areas. Prior to joining Ogilvy, he was principal at Peter Hirsch Strategies with clients like Johnson & Johnson. He has also served as Porter Novelli’s global corporate affairs leader.
Tom Jones has joined Makovsky + Company as group VP of the firm’s health practice reporting to practice EVP Gil Bashe. Jones will lead a number of the firm’s new assignments and client work in digital health communications. Previously, Jones had his own consulting business and has served as executive director of comms at Novartis.
Craig Casselberry has joined Weber Shandwick’s corporate practice as an SVP in Austin. He will focus on the firm’s public affairs business in Texas and the Southwest. He has 20 years of experience in Texas politics, managed public policy campaigns for corporate clients, and founded Quorum Public Affairs in 1994.
David Olmos has joined Waggener Edstrom Worldwide as director of healthcare editorial strategy. Olmos was previously a reporter, working with outlets including the Charlotte Observer and Los Angeles Times, where he served as the health editor for a decade. At WE, he will serve as a counselor and strategist to the healthcare practice helping in areas like storytelling, influencer strategy, and media relations.
Elizabeth Vicenzino, MSLGroup’s director of corporate communications for the Americas, has left the firm, effective February 8. We’ve been in touch with Jim Tsokanos, the firm’s president of the Americas, and news on the firm’s new director is to come.
Business Wire has promoted Ali Paksima director of XBRL accounting services. She will report to Michael Becker, SVP of financial product strategy. Paksima joined BW in 2009 and has a decade of experience as an accountant, including time at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
