Roles Change On NYT’s Politics Desk; Gordon Back To BET

Those changes on The New York Times’s national desk have prompted some shuffling in the politics department, reports Politico. Jeff Zeleny will become a daily reporter; Matt Bai will leave the NYT magazine to become a columnist in newsprint; and Jim Rutenberg will work in an investigate capacity.

Ed Gordon will go back to BET to host a new regular show. His National Public Radio show News and Notes was cancelled last year after four years on the air. (TV Newser)

And Shannon Buggs, who has written a personal finance column for The Houston Chronicle for more than 10 years, is leaving the paper. She will head up Meta-Four Houston, a spoken-word poetry nonprofit for youth, which she founded. (Talking Biz News)
