Rodale to Slash 10 Percent of its Headcount

Joining the parade of publishing companies that have laid off staff in the face of disappearing ad pages, Rodale announced it would slash 10 percent of its headcount, or 111 employees.

The company said it would eliminate positions in several divisions, including operations, information technology, customer service and publishing. Integrated sales and marketing, now handled by Rodale Marketing Solutions, will be folded into the sales and marketing teams of each Rodale brand while certain IT and operations activities will be outsourced, the company said.
