After a launch on iOS devices way back in 2011, food truck tracking app Roaming Hunger has finally launched on Android devices, giving a new set of users a way to locate their favorite (or new) food trucks without bouncing between separate Twitter profiles, Facebook pages and websites for each individual truck.
Upon downloading the app, Roaming Hunger presents food trucks to users based on location. The app offers two views, with one showing only food trucks that are currently open and operating. The other is for keeping track of the app’s over 6,000 mobile vendors (also based on location), so users can browse their menus and learn more about each food offering at their leisure.
When tapping on a truck, the app presents users with the truck’s hours of operation, a short description of the truck and directions to the truck itself. As users find trucks they already know and love, or find something they’d simply like to flag for later, they can add them to a favorites list for easier browsing later on. Depending on the truck, users can also view full menus and pictures of their food without leaving the app.
“With over one billion active Android users, it was important for us to get our app onto the Android platform,” said Ross Resnick, CEO of Roaming Hunger, in a statement. “Android foodies no longer have to wait for a reliable app that tracks their favorite food trucks. Roaming Hunger has every option in one place and allows for food fans to get in front of the food truck of their choice quickly and with ease. Let the race to your favorite food truck begin!”
Roaming Hunger is available to download for free on the Google Play store.
