The media world, much like the rest of the damn universe, has been a depressing place the past couple of weeks. If you believe the predictions, advertising revenue will plummet both print and supposed savior online while no one will ever get another promotion and yet Ben Silverman will continue to destroy NBC. So that’s fun.
But there are a couple of bright-ish spots.
At ABC, Miguel Marquez leaves Los Angeles to go to London as a correspondent while Ryan Owens relocates from New York to Dallas to serve in the same capacity. Mike von Fremd, formerly based in L.A., joins Owens in the Texas capital.
Also, Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. announced two promotions today. Nancy McEntegart will add corporate sales to her already full plate as east account director for Woman’s Day and Woman’s Day Special Interest Publications. Janis Crowley, McEntegart’s counterpart on the West Coast, is now the corporate account director for northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
Okay, maybe those aren’t exactly shining beacons of hope, but they are a start, right?
