Almost nine in 10 U.S. marketers use retargeting as part of their digital advertising strategy, and 56 percent of those currently abstaining plan to get involved in the next 12 months, reveals a new study.

Marin Software surveyed marketers in the United States about their retargeting setup and found that 48 percent are using social media for retargeting, compared to 81 percent who are using display ads and 77 percent who are using search.

However, two thirds of respondents (67.1 percent) said that they planned to spend more on their social retargeting budget in the next 12 months, which finished tops in the poll. Marin attributed this to the “premium, high-engagement, cross‐device inventory that’s become increasingly available on Facebook and Twitter”.
