Republicans Buy Another Promoted Trend On Twitter, Asking #AreYouBetterOff?

As we mentioned in the saga of @MexicanMitt (the Romney parody account shut down just before Mitt’s speech), the RNC has no problem paying the $120,000 price tag to purchase a promoted trend on Twitter.

And they just shelled out another cool $120k to give the #DNC2012 a solid kick in the face, by asking the Twitterverse #AreYouBetterOff?

Before anyone wonders if maybe this #AreYouBetterOff hashtag was paid for by the Democrats, it wasn’t:

Though the RNC is facing pretty stiff competition when it comes to keeping control of the conversation so far!

Fortunately, they’ve stacked the deck THERE too, by buying promoted tweets that pop up first when you click the hashtag. Promoted TWEETS only cost around $15k each though (approximately) – peanuts really for the party where it rains money.
